The Slide Products team was proud to participate in the 2023 PTXPO show in Rosemont, IL March 28-30. This was the most beneficial regional trade show we have attended over the past 8-10 years, with great overall attendance, traffic and quality.
The industry attendees that visited our booth came to the show with specific and defined problems. They were looking for suppliers who were experts and in a position to offer support addressing those concerns and assistance to improve their processing efficiencies.
There was a palpable feeling that the industry has been longing for these types of networking opportunities, especially after everything had been shut down throughout the covid pandemic. The outcome included a celebration of successes and sharing of new ways to support one another.
Team members had several powerful conversations with mold makers and plastic processors who all expressed interest in how Slide could help improve their manufacturing operations. We set up several Top Tier Service appointments, and consequently our resident purging expert Jeff Lewis now has three purge trials scheduled for his upcoming sales trip to the Midwest.
There were some fantastic events that took place on the show floor. MoldMaking Technology magazine celebrated its 25th anniversary as an advocate and resource for the industry by throwing a happy hour bash Tuesday afternoon. And AMBA (American Mold Builders Association) marked its 50th year in this business hosting a reception in the main expo room on Wednesday. It was also great to catch up with some of Slide’s important distribution partners including Mickey Blyskal-Plastixs, Kim Thiara-AceTronic and Timm Ducey-Barry Sales.
Michael Muth was interviewed by Christina Fuges, a writer for MoldMaking Technology. Their discussion turned to Slide’s Best Practices documents and a few of the key product developments that we’ve offered to the mold making segment throughout the years. We’ll share that video when it becomes available, but you can get a sneak preview in our latest blog.
