When PVCs are heated, out­gassing of hydrochloric and hydrobromic acids occurs causing pitting, oxidation and other issues on any metal equipment in the vicinity including molds and dies. An acidic discharge could lead to plate-out and resin buildup over tool or mold surfaces and must be diligently eradicated.
