All are carefully formulated to help plastics manufacturers and mold makers maximize their productivity. How we got our start in the plastics industry is an interesting story… Founded by Accident Thriving by Design Slide Products was founded in 1953 by Percy Harms, a steel salesman calling on tooling companies during the infancy of the injection molding industry. Eager to find a solution that would prevent plastic parts from sticking in molds and negatively impacting his customers’ productivity, Percy had an idea – what about putting silicone oil in an aerosol can? His solution worked, resulting in the first ever Slide mold release product, as well as the founding of the Percy Harms aerosol company. Soon, Percy was selling his line of aerosols on the side while maintaining his steel sales job. Within a decade, it was time to devote his energies to his new aerosol business full time, subsequently adding his two sons, Jim and Hank, along with chemist Jan van der Graaf to his team. Another ten years later, the company moved to its current location in Wheeling, IL, and began producing our products in-house. While Percy Harms Corp. explored other industries, we remained focused on our key markets – plastics processors and mold makers. While our company’s name was officially changed to Slide Products in 1993, our commitment to innovation and customer service has never wavered. Over the years, our distribution network has grown substantially. With more than 200 stocking distributors in 30 countries, Slide Products is simply everywhere plastics are being processed worldwide. A cold mold cleaner uses solvents that will evaporate too quickly on a warm mold, hindering its effectiveness. A warm mold cleaner has solvents that evaporate very slowly and may require you to spend extra time wiping residue off a cold mold.Next >
